Thursday’s event was rained off at
Enniscorthy GC
DUE TO BAD weather conditions the H.Murphy & Co-sponsored competition at Enniscorthy Golf Club, was cancelled on Thursday 31st July and has been refixed for Wednesday 6th August.
On Friday conditions improved and we were able to start the Martin’s Londis Supermarket 3-man and 3ladies’ team event with 160 people able to play.
The eventual winners were local brothers John and Alan Buckley who teamed up with postmaster Jimmy Bolger with a magnificent score of 91 points closely followed by Tommy, Frank and Joe Morrissey from New Ross with 90 points. In third place was our South East Radio commentary team of Liam Spratt, Seamus Fitzhenry and Billy Dodd (87 Pts) and in fourth was William and Conor Rackard and Dave Armstrong (86 pts) With such bad weather conditions so far this week we would like to thank our head green keeper P.J.Dempsey and his staff for the great condition the course was in. We hope the weather will prevail.
The Bank holiday weekend saw over 428 played in Enniscorthy Golf Club for the Ulster Bank Four ball and the My-Sport (Sport’n Style) singles.
The fourball results is as follows: 1st Jimmy Fox and Paddy Mooney (48 pts). 2nd: Stephen Hemmingway and Alan Jacob (44 pts). 3rd: Ml Wickham and John Bail (44). 4th: Martin Sludds and Dan Jordan (44 pts). Vis: J. Horan (Carton Hse) and E. Manning (Balcarrig).
Results My Sport Singles: 1st Brian Corrigan (45 pts). 2nd Conor Murphy (43 pts). Gross: Cormac Martin (36 pts). 3rd Pechelli English (42 pts). 4th John Bail (42 pts). 5th Brian Fortune (41 pts). Vis: Ollie Moran (Ballykisteen Co Tipp).
