Monageer make sure of senior camogie status
MONAGEER-BOOLAVOGUE made sure of their county senior camogie championship status when they defeated Glynn-Barntown on Sunday week last in the relegation final by 1-16 to 3-5.
Having gone in at half-time leading by 0-9 to 0-2 it looked as if a landslide victory was on the cards.
But a resurgent Glynn-Barntown gave Monageer a good run for their money, and, in fact, had the Killurin women played with the same level of intensity in the first-half it could have been a very different story.
Glynn-Barntown had excellent workers in ‘keeper Lucy Cloney, corner-back Siobhan O’Regan, Aoife Sheil and Roisin Doyle in the forwards together with Annette Moroney. But leading Monageer-Boolavogue to this crucial victory were Catherine O’Loughlin, Síona Nolan, Rose-Marie Breen, Mary Breen and Orla Gahan.
