JJ honoured for new I.F.A. role
LOCAL MAN, J.J. Kavanagh, was the guest of honour at a special event in Ballywilliam last weekend.
The event was organised to mark the fact that Mr. Kavanagh was appointed to the prestigious position of National I.F.A. Treasurer.
Mr. Kavanagh has been at the forefront of the I.F.A. at county level for many years.
He is held in very high esteem across the country for his straight-talking and honest approach to his role and that of people working within the farming sector throughout Ireland.
The huge regard in which he is held was underlined by the large turnout in Ballywilliam last Friday night.
In addition to family and friends, Mr. Kavanagh was joined on the occasion by some of the leading figures within the I.F.A. at national level.
Among those in attendance were the National Livestock Chairperson, Michael Doran, the National Sheep Chairperson, James Murphy, and the organisation’s Co. Chairperson, Ger Lyons.
The National I.F.A. President, John Bryan, from Co. Kilkenny, was also in attendance.
